Split PDF: common questions

How do page ranges work?

Use comma-separated page numbers and ascending ranges, such as 1–3, 7, 10–12. Repeated pages are deduplicated and extracted in document order. These are physical page positions, which may differ from printed page labels. Out-of-range numbers block processing.

Will splitting create images or PDFs?

The output remains PDF. Extract pages creates one PDF containing your selection; Split every page creates page-1.pdf, page-2.pdf and so on. Use PDF to Image if you need JPG or PNG instead.

What is the split limit?

One unencrypted PDF, up to 50 pages and 64 MB. The total generated files must fit within 128 MB. Embedded resources may repeat across separate page files, making the combined results larger than the original. Bookmarks, forms and signatures may not survive page copying.
