Choose files and convert locally
Drop a mixed batch of supported files, choose an output format and convert. The converter checks the actual container and codec. Unsupported or damaged files show an error while other files continue.
Want one continuous recording instead of separate exports? Merge audio files with Audio Joiner, arrange the order, and preview one combined copy.
Unsure what a recording contains? Inspect its audio codec and track metadata with Media Info before choosing an output format.
Need to compare smaller copies? Use the Audio Compressor. For Ogg input, convert Ogg Vorbis or Ogg Opus to MP3 with bitrate guidance.
Quality and metadata
Need a PCM working copy for an editor? Convert MP3 to WAV and choose the required sample rate and bit depth. For a reusable music source or a smaller listening copy, read the FLAC vs MP3 comparison.
WAV, AIFF and FLAC store PCM without lossy codec compression. Original sample rate and channels preserve supported WAV/AIFF/FLAC samples; reducing bit depth changes samples. FLAC compression levels affect size and speed, not quality. MP3, Ogg Vorbis and Opus are lossy. Converting between lossy formats may reduce audio quality. Conversion removes tags and artwork.
Supported recordings
Use mono or stereo PCM WAV and native FLAC at 8, 16 or 24-bit, single-stream Ogg Vorbis, Ogg Opus, standard 16/24-bit PCM AIFF (not AIFC), or CBR/VBR MP3. MP3 output uses LAME with CBR 128–320 kbps or VBR quality presets at 44.1/48 kHz. This version requires a known duration, supports sample rates from 8000 to 192000 Hz, and does not support chained streams or surround audio. Opus output uses 48000 Hz. Limits also depend on available device memory.
