Processing happens locally in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. Google advertising makes separate requests. See how to verify local processing.
Draw or Type a Signature
Draw with a mouse, touch screen or stylus on a transparent canvas. Choose black or blue ink and line width, then add the signature to a page. Type a name using the licensed regular or italic font style, or upload a still PNG or JPG. Transparent PNG avoids covering the document with a solid background. Signature images can be placed more than once and resized proportionally.
How to Fill PDF Forms
Fill Form lists the document’s actual AcroForm fields and original options. Required fields must be completed, read-only fields cannot be changed, and text limits follow the original PDF. Keep Flatten Filled Form off to retain interactive fields. Turn it on only when you need fixed field appearances; unsupported fields and signature fields prevent flattening.
Visible Signatures vs Digital Signatures
A visible signature is an appearance on the page. A certificate-based digital signature uses cryptography to verify document integrity and a signing certificate. This editor supplies the appearance only: it does not authenticate a person, provide a certificate chain or guarantee legal acceptance. Editing may invalidate earlier signatures. Detectable signed and certified files are rejected, but signature detection is not a guarantee.
Can I Sign a Scanned PDF?
Yes. Place a visible signature or use Add Text on a scanned page even when it has no form fields. Added text remains PDF text; the original scan remains its original image. This does not recognize existing handwriting, perform OCR or create new interactive fields. Text placement follows the visible page’s rotation and crop area, rather than the thumbnail’s pixel dimensions.
Privacy
PDF editing and preview rendering happen in local browser workers. Only the current page is rendered. Signatures, field values and file names are neither uploaded nor recorded in analytics, localStorage or IndexedDB. Fonts are downloaded as static assets when needed. Clearing or leaving the editor releases canvases, workers and temporary URLs; your original PDF stays unchanged. Review the final rendered PDF before sharing.

Sign and Fill PDF: common questions
Is this a certificate-based digital signature?
No. This tool adds a visible electronic signature appearance. It does not create PKI signatures, verify identity, certify tamper resistance or guarantee legal validity. Ask the recipient what signing method they require.
Which PDF forms can I fill?
Supported AcroForms include text, checkbox, radio, dropdown and option-list fields. Original choices, read-only flags, required fields and character limits are respected. XFA forms are rejected; unsupported fields remain intact and disable flattening.
Can I use Chinese text?
A locally hosted, OFL-licensed Unicode font is loaded only when needed. Traditional Chinese and other covered characters are embedded in text and form appearances; unsupported characters produce an error. Typed signatures use the same checked font and become transparent PNGs.
What does Flatten Filled Form do?
Flattening fixes supported field appearances onto the existing PDF pages and removes their interactive fields. It is off by default and does not turn whole pages into images. Documents with unsupported or signature fields cannot be flattened.
Can I edit a digitally signed or encrypted PDF?
Detectable signed or certified documents and encrypted PDFs are rejected. Modifying a PDF may invalidate existing signatures; detection is not proof that every accepted file is unsigned. Use an authorized unsigned, unencrypted copy.
Are signatures and form values saved or uploaded?
No. Your PDF, signature images and entered values stay in the current browser session. They are not stored in localStorage or IndexedDB, recorded in analytics or uploaded. Clear or leave the editor to release working resources.
Will the original document remain editable?
The original file remains unchanged. Downloaded copies retain existing page content and supported forms when flattening is off. Special annotations, scripts, tags and other advanced structures are not guaranteed to work identically in every viewer. Review the exported copy.
What are the limits?
The existing PDF limits are 64 MB and 50 pages, with stricter memory limits on some devices. This editor supports up to 200 fields, 100 placed objects and 30 signature images under 4 megapixels each, subject to aggregate memory limits.
