How to transfer files with a QR code
- Click Create QR Code on one device. Optionally choose a receiving folder in a supported browser.
- Scan the QR code on your other device using its camera or our QR Scanner.
- Compare the six-digit code on both devices and allow the phone on your computer.
- Either device can select files. The other device accepts or declines each incoming list. You can also share text and links in the same session.
- Wait for integrity verification, then download your files or check your chosen folder, or open a supported FormatPlease tool right here. Keep verified downloads across batches, or download memory-held files together as ZIP within its separate capacity limit.
Private, direct file transfer
Our Cloudflare server creates a temporary room and relays connection information. File contents, filenames, shared text and URLs travel over an encrypted WebRTC DataChannel between your devices, never through our server. These transfer pages contain no advertising or general tool analytics. Optional connection statistics require your explicit analytics consent and include only finite anonymous categories. STUN services and your peer may learn network addresses needed to connect.
Limits and network compatibility
No shared Wi-Fi is required to try connecting. Some networks and NAT configurations prevent direct connections; try another network or the same Wi-Fi if pairing fails. There is no relay or upload fallback. Keep both pages in the foreground and the phone unlocked.
Frequently asked questions
Can I transfer files from PC to phone?
Yes. After pairing, both devices can send and receive without scanning again. Each incoming batch requires approval. Browser downloads on iPhone request a save; they do not automatically place photos in Photos.
Can I transfer files from iPhone to Windows?
Yes, when the browsers can establish a direct WebRTC connection. Pair with your native camera or our scanner, compare the code and approve each batch.
Can I send text or links?
Yes. Text & Links supports multiline text, Chinese and emoji, up to 8 KiB UTF-8 per item. Copy is optional. Only HTTP and HTTPS links can be opened, and never automatically. History stays in this browser session.
Can I download multiple files as ZIP?
Yes, for verified files still held in browser memory. ZIP uses STORE packaging to preserve original bytes, with 32 MiB total input on desktop or 16 MiB on mobile/low-memory devices. Saved-to-folder files without a browser copy cannot be included. Individual downloads remain available.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Files and shared items use the encrypted P2P channel. Cloudflare handles pairing and signaling only. ZIP is created in your browser.
Do I need an app or an account?
No. Use an updated browser and your phone’s camera. The built-in scanner is optional.
Which files can I send?
Any original binary file, including JPG, PNG, HEIC, MP4, MOV, PDF, ZIP and TXT. No conversion or metadata removal takes place.
What are the transfer limits?
Up to 20 files. Browser downloads use a 64 MiB batch budget on desktop and 32 MiB on mobile or low-memory devices. Supported browsers can stream to a chosen folder, with limits of 256 MiB per file and 1 GiB per batch. Retained browser files consume the cumulative memory budget across batches; download and clear them to restore space. At most 100 received entries and 50 shared text/link items are retained in a session.
Does it work on different Wi-Fi networks?
You can try. Some NAT and firewall configurations block direct P2P connections. Try the same Wi-Fi or another network if connection fails; there is no TURN relay or upload fallback.
Does “verified” mean my file has been saved?
It means the receiver checked every byte’s SHA-256 digest and expected length. Browser downloads still require you to download the file. Folder transfers show “Saved” only after the verified write is committed.
Can I reuse the QR code?
No. It expires after ten minutes and is consumed on the first pairing request. A connected session lasts at most one hour, independently of QR expiration. End Session invalidates the room.
