BMP to WEBP, explained
Convert BMP to WEBP directly on your device. Create a still WEBP image for a website or application that accepts WEBP. Check palette colors and image orientation in older screenshots. A small compressed file can still decode into a raster that exceeds the image limits.
Choose BMP files and confirm the preview.
Keep WEBP selected. Adjust quality and check fine detail after conversion.
Convert and download the WEBP results. Multiple results can be saved together as a ZIP.
Reading your BMP source
BMP input is decoded by the browser. Common bitmap files are supported, but specialized or damaged variants can fail. The converter works with decoded pixels rather than preserving BMP header fields.
Settings for WEBP output
Choose WEBP quality and compare the actual bytes after conversion. Decoded alpha can be retained. The tool does not expose a lossless WEBP switch or guarantee a smaller result.
Dimensions in BMP to WEBP
Original size keeps decoded raster dimensions. Advanced Settings offers percentage scaling or fit within a maximum width and height, with aspect ratio preserved and no cropping. Input and output safety limits both apply.
What survives the conversion
This WEBP export is a still image with adjustable lossy quality. It does not preserve animation, even when the source contains multiple frames. Check palette colors and image orientation in older screenshots. A small compressed file can still decode into a raster that exceeds the image limits.
Batch processing and device limits
Choose up to 50 files, each at most 64 MB. Decoded images must fit 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side; total outputs are capped at 256 MB. All conversion runs on this device. Source metadata is removed, and damaged or unsupported variants can fail without changing the originals.
