PDF to PNG, explained
Render PDF pages as separate PNG images for diagrams, slide previews and text-heavy screenshots. PNG avoids an additional lossy image encode, while the page itself becomes a fixed-resolution picture.
Choose a PDF and wait for its preview and page count.
Keep PNG selected, choose all pages or a range, then select Screen, 150 or 300 PPI and review the estimated dimensions.
Download individual page PNGs or collect completed pages in a ZIP.
One image for each document page
Choose All pages or Selected pages with a range such as 1, 3–5. You get one PNG per selected page, ordered by original page number without duplicates. Filenames keep those numbers even for a single selected page. A document may have at most 50 pages, and a batch uses the same selection for every PDF.
Useful for text and diagram previews
PNG avoids the JPEG encode that can add ringing around letters or fine lines. It does not increase the renderer resolution, perform OCR or recover detail in an embedded low-resolution scan. Check small type before publishing a preview.
Choose the pixel resolution
Screen renders at 108 PPI; 150 PPI and 300 PPI provide more pixels for text and diagrams. A standard Letter page becomes 918 × 1188, 1275 × 1650 or 2550 × 3300 pixels respectively. Review each selected page’s estimated dimensions before converting. This setting controls rendering, not print metadata. PNG has no lossy quality slider. Resolution determines rendered pixels; optional resize in Advanced Settings changes final dimensions afterward.
Document features become pixels
Links, selectable text, forms and vector objects are flattened. The PNG is not an editable document and does not retain PDF accessibility structure. Keep the PDF when searching, copying text or interacting with a form matters.
Complex documents and output size
Each PDF must be at most 64 MB and 50 pages. Selected pages must fit 24 megapixels, 16,384 pixels per side and a 256 MB estimated pixel-buffer budget per page. Reduce resolution when the preflight rejects a page. PDF batches render sequentially, but actual memory can exceed that estimate. Total output must fit 256 MB. Passwords or specialized codecs may prevent conversion, and non-embedded fonts can be substituted.
