JPG to BMP, explained
Convert JPG to BMP directly on your device. Create a 24-bit BMP bitmap for software that specifically requires BMP input. Compare skin tones, fine texture and straight edges with the original JPEG. Changing the container cannot recover detail lost in an earlier lossy save.
Choose JPG files and confirm the preview.
Keep BMP selected. Review the output behavior below before converting.
Convert and download the BMP results. Multiple results can be saved together as a ZIP.
Reading your JPG source
JPG and JPEG are names for the same image format. The browser decodes the photo, including supported orientation information, before the new file is encoded. Existing JPEG compression artifacts remain.
Settings for BMP output
BMP export is uncompressed 24-bit RGB, without a quality slider. Transparent areas use your chosen background (white by default); change it in Advanced Settings. Expect substantially larger files than compressed photo formats.
Dimensions in JPG to BMP
Original size keeps decoded raster dimensions. Advanced Settings offers percentage scaling or fit within a maximum width and height, with aspect ratio preserved and no cropping. Input and output safety limits both apply.
What survives the conversion
The output stores decoded RGB pixels without JPEG-style compression. It does not preserve source alpha, layers, vector data or original high-bit-depth samples. Compare skin tones, fine texture and straight edges with the original JPEG. Changing the container cannot recover detail lost in an earlier lossy save.
Batch processing and device limits
Choose up to 50 files, each at most 64 MB. Decoded images must fit 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side; total outputs are capped at 256 MB. All conversion runs on this device. Source metadata is removed, and damaged or unsupported variants can fail without changing the originals.
