AVIF to BMP, explained
Convert AVIF to BMP directly on your device. Create a 24-bit BMP bitmap for software that specifically requires BMP input. Check brightness, gradients and color against the source in an AVIF-capable viewer. The fallback rejects unsupported color profiles and transforms rather than silently altering them.
Choose AVIF files and confirm the preview.
Keep BMP selected. Review the output behavior below before converting.
Convert and download the BMP results. Multiple results can be saved together as a ZIP.
Reading your AVIF source
AVIF uses native decoding first and a local WASM fallback for compatible sRGB still files. Test one image first. This workflow creates a still raster copy and does not promise to preserve HDR, original bit depth, embedded profiles or animation.
Settings for BMP output
BMP export is uncompressed 24-bit RGB, without a quality slider. Transparent areas use your chosen background (white by default); change it in Advanced Settings. Expect substantially larger files than compressed photo formats.
Dimensions in AVIF to BMP
Original size keeps decoded raster dimensions. Advanced Settings offers percentage scaling or fit within a maximum width and height, with aspect ratio preserved and no cropping. Input and output safety limits both apply.
What survives the conversion
The output stores decoded RGB pixels without JPEG-style compression. It does not preserve source alpha, layers, vector data or original high-bit-depth samples. Check brightness, gradients and color against the source in an AVIF-capable viewer. The fallback rejects unsupported color profiles and transforms rather than silently altering them.
Batch processing and device limits
Choose up to 50 files, each at most 64 MB. Decoded images must fit 24 megapixels and 16,384 pixels per side; total outputs are capped at 256 MB. All conversion runs on this device. Source metadata is removed, and damaged or unsupported variants can fail without changing the originals.
