Choose the change your upload actually needs
A byte limit, a required file format and a width or height limit are different checks. Read the destination's instructions before changing a photo. Start with the guide below if a rounded “100 KB” label still produces an upload error.
- Set a maximum image size in bytes for JPG, PNG or WebP input. Target-size output is JPG or WebP; inspect the result instead of assuming every image can meet a limit without visible changes.
- Resize an image's dimensions when the form specifies pixels. Resizing and changing encoding quality solve different problems.
- Compare WebP and JPG for your destinationbefore giving up transparency or making another lossy copy.
